Better Crocker is Your Friend

May 17, 2009 by Debbie Taylor

Betty Crocker is a well-known name in cooking and baking.

If you haven’t visited the Betty Crocker website lately (or ever), you may want to give it a try!  Offering newsletterscoupons for the Betty Crocker products, recipes, how-to’s, a community and more, a wealth of information and resources awaits you!

My mom, cook and baker extraordinaire, uses her own arsenal of cookbooks and recipe collections on a regular basis.  But she also relies on websites like Betty Crocker to find new recipes or a twist on an old recipe.  No matter your level of expertise in the kitchen, Betty Crocker may offer some help when you’re feeling uninspired and tired of “the same old thing.”

Sandra Lee, of the Food Network, has built on the idea of “Semi-Homemade” meals, using from-scratch techniques and ingredients along with from-the-box products.  In fact, her approach is to use 70% convenience foods + 30% fresh ingredients.

This allows anyone – especially busy working parents – to create a healthy, homecooked meal, while using some convenience items to save time.  And money!

Using their products as a base, Betty Crocker recipes are simple and easy – and many of them are so quick.  Like this Garden Ranch Pasta Salad Recipe.  Wouldn’t this be a perfect side at your next home cookout?

Betty Crocker is just one resource that helps any busy working parent (and let’s face it, we’re all busy!) provide good nutrition and savings for their family, while staying within their own lifestyle and time constraints!

  • Just checked out the Betty Crocker website and it is great because you can select recipes based on type of cuisine and based on main ingredient. Love that! OK, I'm getting inspired to cook! I'm checkin' out Sandra Lee, too.

This is great Debbie. I find myself distractedclicking on the links to see what ideas I could pick up. "Focus Anne, focus!". Thanks
  • The older we kids got, the more my mom cooked this way. Using convenience foods (like Betty Crocker) and adding fresh stuff is really great. Sandra Lee has capitalized on it and really created some fantastic options for cooks!
  • I'm running over to Sandra Lee's website right now - that sounds like my style!!!
