Showin’ Some Foodie Link Love

Having been inspired by my Cross Blog Conversation with Jill, The Veggie Queen, I found some yummy summer recipes with a healthy twist this week.
Summer is so wonderful for jellies and jams made from fresh, homegrown fruit! If you can’t grow it yourself, check a local farm or market for fresh berries. Make it From Scratch shares a delicious looking Blackberry Freezer Jam – Freezer jam is easy for anybody to make!
The Vintage Homemaker posted a recipe for Strawberry Kiwi Jam which looks delicious and might be a nice twist for Strawberry flavor!
Either of these jams would pair nicely with the Melt-In-Your-Mouth Cream Scones at Savory Sweet Life. With only 4 Tbsp of sugar, this is a great alternative to much sweeter offerings!
Do you like hummus? Lindsay, The Passionate Homemaker, shares a suggestion for a Hummus Platter, using homemade hummus from homemade tahini.
The Better Baker shares some light and low-cal recipes for summer in her post, On The Lighter Side. The Caramel Apple Salad is a simple recipe and feels like a major splurge!!!
This Farmer’s Market Fruit Dip by Meatless Mama would be great for any summer party – or might make the perfect afternoon or bedtime snack. (Also, check her post about chemicals & pesticides used on food and a new nationwide database that’s available to consumers!)
I enjoyed this post at Life from My Laptop because I could sooooo relate! Alyssa was brave enough to share One of Her Quirks with food, and I responded with some of mine!
Are you brave enough to share yours? What kind of food quirks do you have?
