Hello Family Foodies Followers!
I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Sharon Trombly, I am a blogging intern from the Mom’s Talk Network. Over the next 3 months I will be blogging here on Family Foodies and learning so much as I go, I am certain of it. (Thank you Kelly, if I could, I would bake you a pie!)
So, dear readers, support me, and please let me know how I’m doing via comments
your support is appreciated. Please don’t forget to share Family Foodies with your friends too!
A Little Bit About Me…
I believe my trepidations about cooking actually stem from when I was a teenager. My mom only invited two teenagers into her kitchen to help prepare dinner for the ten of us each night, or supper as we called it then (we’re from Wisconsin).
For some reason it seemed to always be my two older sisters that were invited to help. Of course at the time, when you are a teenager, you don’t look at it from the point of view of maturity or capability. You take it somewhat personally, as in “I’m not good at it.” or “Mom really dislikes cooking with me.”
Flash forward a number of years (not that many!) and here we are today.
I actually have found a way out of kitchen duty, well except for the washing dishes part. Twenty years ago I married an excellent cook! My husband John really enjoys meal planning and preparation. For me, if he’s not around, a bowl of Captain Crunch will work as a meal!
I have occasionally re-entered the cooking arena, and Ive also heard such supportive comments from my kids like, “Mom, you suck at making hash browns.” I do suppose that for me, baking is easier than stove-top cooking. I tend to freak out when stuff boils or gets stuck to the bottom of the pot.
Do I need food therapy?
Can blogging on Family Foodies help me? Well…I sure hope so! Join me in this adventure and we’ll discover together what I burn and what I bake!

Sharon: It sounds like you should get John to enter the recipies
Congrats on the blogging internship. Kelly is great and I’m sure you will enjoy working with her.
Congrats on your blog! I know what you mean. My dad’s cooking is the best, and my parents used to own a restaurant. They’d try teaching us kids to cook, but evidently we didn’t do it right, so we got shooed out of the kitchen. It also didn’t help that there were no measurements in anything they taught us…like a spoonful of this, a pinch of that, a little of this… I tried all kinds of recipes since getting married, and it has been fun. Good luck!
Hi Stacy. Nice to ‘meet’ you. I’m Tishia, Kelly’s assistant so I’m sure our paths will cross at some point in time. I’m so glad that I’m not the only one that has a tendency to burn things when it comes to cooking! Maybe we should start a club for that?
I look forward to seeing you around and getting to know you better.
I enjoyed your blog. I’m curious what kind of recipes you’re going to share, so I’m going to check back often to find out.
I’m really good at doing the dishes! That’s the thing with people that like to cook, they seem to use every bowl, pot and pan in the kitchen to do it. So you see I am focusing first on crockpot meals – one pot for me to clean
Do you have a favorite to share?
Thanks so much Felicia, be sure and share a favorite recipe with me – crockpot cooking is our current theme.
Yes! I am not alone! Thanks Joyce for sharing your experience, I am receiving food therapy here
Hi Lynn, thanks for your support!
I want some of that homemade food delivered. Nice Job Sharon !!!!! Cheryl
Thanks for the comment, Cheryl. Now how about you email your quick and creative pot pie recipe to me so I can share it on Family Foodies?
I just came across this post again and realized I totally made a mistake and called Sharon Stacy for some reason! Jeez way to go me!
