When everything OLD is NEW again…

leftoversI have a secret to confess: “Left Overs” die a slow, painful death in the McRae family fridge!

Sadly, this has been an area where our family has been lax for quite some time.  It really hit me like a ton of bricks when I was cleaning out the fridge recently.  We waste TOO much food.

This seems quite odd to me considering I grew up in a household where I was reminded that there were starving children in Ethiopia every time I didn’t clean my plate.

As part of our family’s effort to instill fiscal responsibility in our children, we’ve chosen to adopt the “waste not” attitude when it comes to left overs.

I LOVE My Thighs…A Mantra To Cure Cabin Fever!

I read an interesting article today at WAHM2.0 about Cabin Fever and it got me thinking…I SO have cabin fever when it comes to my eating habits! I’m obsessed with getting some “Spring” into my life, BUT I’m not ready to roll out the Bermuda shorts just yet.   Why???  It’s a little problem I like to refer to as “THUNDER THIGHS”!  Does anyone else have this problem??

If You’re LUCKY Enough To Be Irish…

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, I thought I would share a little “Luck-o-the-Irish” with you and give you some fabulous tips for Corned Beef that is SO good you’ll SWEAR you’re Irish. (At least for today!)  This is my MIL’s special Corned Beef with plum sauce and new potato recipe.  Enjoy!

One of my all time FAVORITE desserts is bread pudding!  Thanks to having had family in the restaurant business for many years, we’ve got some AMAZING recipes.

I’m proud to share “Mother’s Bread Pudding” from the world famous Mother’s Restaurant in New Orleans–a family tradition.
