Veganism is a growing trend in the world today as more people discover the health benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle, but being a Vegan is about more than what you do or do not eat.

In this show LaTara Ham-Ying of Vegan Family Living lets her pal Shelly grill her on the topic of how she got started in the Vegan Lifestyle.

Shelly is presently transitioning into a Vegan diet as well so she has some great newbie questions for LaTara to answer.  You’ll learn a lot in todays episode.

    I loved hearing La Tara!

I’m not a strict vegan, but I’ve got a ton of vegan cookbooks and often eat vegan. We don’t eat a lot of meat or dairy products…and vegan cooking makes it easy to keep kosher because the laws of keeping kosher forbid us from mixing milk and meat…

I recently found a recipe for a great vegan Parmesan Cheese substitute on Kosherblog.net and I’m really enjoying it. Here it is:

1/2 cup almond flour or well ground, blanched almonds
2 tablespoons Red Star nutritional yeast
    2 teaspoons chickpea miso
    1/4 teaspoon salt

Blend all ingredients well in a food processor.
