It’s BACON!

I LOVE those old commercials for Beggin’ Strips doggie snacks–the one where the dog says, “it’s BACON!”

We ALL know that everything is better with bacon. Well, I’ve proven to myself that you can wrap ANYTHING in bacon and actually LOVE eating it!

I have to give credit to my fabulous cuz Malena for teaching me this little trick…and I’m so glad that she did.

You’ll need:

  • Center Cut Bacon (get the REAL stuff…the Turkey kind just doesn’t work out right.)
  • Allessi Marinade (Original)
  • Pepper, Sea Salt or whatever “seasoning” you prefer
  • Fresh Veggies of your choice
  • Roasting Pan with rack
  • Toothpicks

Here’s what you do:

Heat oven to 400

Take Veggies and wrap in 1 slice of center cut bacon and secure with toothpick. I used green beans (b/c I used to HATE them, but cooked this way they’re delicious!) and mushrooms (I love ‘em but DH hates them!)

Please bacon wrapped veggies on rack and place rack in roasting pan.

Pour 1 bottle of marinade over veggies, then sprinkle with pepper, salt/seasonings to taste.

Place in oven and turn over in 15 minutes. Then, I place under broiler on each side to crisp them up! And during the Spring/Summer, you can do this on the GRILL even!

    Mmmmmm bacon. I have also done this with prosciutto and asparagus – YUM. Have never tried to use marinade. Gosh, now I really want bacon!!! :)
