Online Foodies to Rock Your Taste Buds!

One of our most recent assignments as Moms Talk Interns required some research and investigation into other blogs pertaining to topics found here.

Foodie Blogs!

I’ll be honest – I haven’t followed too many foodie blogs on a regular basis.   I had visited Family Foodies a few times before ever speaking with Kelly about my internship,  but I always tended to focus on mommy blogs – with mostly mommy topics.

Last December, I put more effort on my own blog into sharing some favorite family recipes from my mom and my own collection, along with some tips & shortcuts in the kitchen.  I saw an immediate reaction in my audience and brought in some new readers.  Hmmmm…

As I searched for more family-friendly recipes for my own family, I began finding some incredible foodie communities.  And since our most recent challenge, I have been SO excited to find some really great blogs and foodie communities that I have to share with you!

Whether you are an avid cook with expert advice, or a newbie who barely boils water – these food communities not only provide recipes, but many also an opportunity to interact with cooks of all levels, from all walks of life.  Some of these communities offer product recommendations, reviews, coupons, instructional help, mentors, and more.

As a matter of fact, I’m now following a raw vegan blogger who post a beautiful blog with some intriguing recipes, all because I found these food communities!  And my family is not vegan…

Foodie Communities!

  • Betty Crocker – “Expertise from our kitchen and yours.”
  • Bakespace - “Come for the food.  Stay for the conversation.”
  • Foodbuzz – “Find flavor, share taste.”
  • Mixing Bowl – “Food and Friends made fresh daily”
  • Taste of Home – “Cooking. Caring. Sharing.”

After all this research and recent reconnection with my love of cooking – I’m thrilled to be here at Family Foodies.  And I think my personal blog is going to incorporate more food-related topics & themes, too!

And don’t forget to check out Yahoo! groups, Ning, and Google for other possibilities!

But be careful, you could become addicted!

I just added Raw Vegan Blogger to my reader. Her food looks interesting and delicious. I’m a vegetarian, and I know how hard it must be to be vegan AND raw. Crazy woman! But very interesting blog.

  2. I think Raw Vegan Blogger is one of my all time favorite blogs – for its visual appeal, as well as for providing appealing recipes for non-vegans and non-vegetarians alike! I can’t imagine being vegan, but I think I’ve learned it’s not quite as extreme as I imagined it to be after reading that blog!
