Smores

This week is camping week on the Mom’s Talk Network. You can refer to my menu for this week for more camping food ideas or enter our giveaway for a great camping ebook from Kitchen Stewardship.

Every time we have a camping trip the kids beg for smores.  It is one of my guilty pleasures so I almost always bring the supplies along.

The last little trip we made, I didn’t have sticks or a knife to cut sticks, so we improvised and used our camping grill.

Whether you use your camping grill, camp fire or microwave at home, smores are a great treat and so easy to make.

Smores

Ingredients:

  • Large Marshmallows
  • Chocolate Bars
  • Graham Crackers

Directions:

  1. Heat marshmallows until desired melting point (if you like them burned go for it!)
  2. Layer graham cracker, chocolate, marshmallow and top with 2nd graham cracker.
  3. Enjoy

Suggestions:

  • Go prepared with grilling sticks, they will make your life easier.
  • After roasting your marshmallows, make your smore and wrap in foil while leaving the marshmallows on the stick. Heat entire thing over the fire. This helps melt the chocolate and gives you a handy wrapper.
  • Want Smores at home? Use this handy smore maker in your microwave!

S'mores are so good, I just make them whenever I get in the mood! But they are best in the summer, I have to say.

  2. Oh, how I miss eating Smores! They have always been the best part of camping.
