Strawberries are once again on sale at our local grocery store! I love strawberries! They remind me of summer and I sure could use that reminder about now!
Slice and Serve – My Way
I like to slice them up (well actually I like for John to slice them up) and put them in a covered bowl in the fridge. Then throughout my day I will have a couple of bowls full while working at my desk.

John, on the other hand, likes to slice them up, put them in a bowl, add a bit of water and sprinkle with sugar. This creates a syrup for the strawberries to soak in.
Put ‘em in a Pie
I really don’t think the strawberries need any “doctoring” like that as I enjoy the sweet and tart flavors in fruits. As for actually making something with strawberries from a recipe, they usually aren’t around long enough to accomplish that! In the past I used to wash them, slice them and put them in a cooked pie shell. Then pour that yummy strawberry glaze over them, add whip cream and devour!



I like strawberries both ways you mentioned – sliced and in the fridge with nothing on them to just munch on throughout the day and also with a little sugar and water added to create a syrup for them to soak in.

Sharon – great name! lol… I like your blogging style and the layout, also- such a refreshing change, too, from some of the ones I’ve been to which just make me want to run screaming from the computer with arms flailing wildly.
