The Healing Trail Mix for Kids by Dr. Tom Potisk

Make some yummy trail mix for the kids, you may just be helping their bodies heal.

Healing Trail Mix Recipe

  • 1 cup raisins

  • 1 cup unsalted walnuts
  • 1 cup roasted unsalted soy nuts
  • 1 cup carob chips
  • ½ cup chopped dried dates
  • 1 /2 teaspoon sea salt

Mix thoroughly

Why is it healing?

Healing demands specific nutrients for cellular rebuilding, stronger immunity, and optimum organ function. These ingredients specifically address the nutritional needs of children.

For example, the raisins, dates and carob are high in fiber and anti-oxidants, the walnuts contain essential oils, the soy nuts are known to be a great protein source, and the sea salt is a healthier alternative than conventional salt because sea salt contains many minerals. This recipe is a wonderful balance of fiber, healthy carbs, protein, and healthy fats. It’s also low glycemic. And the taste? Fantastic! Kids love it!

This is a great healthy recipe for kids!

What a tasty combination- Definitely a keeper! And great timing for me, since it sounds like an excellent travel snack.

  2. This trail mix sounds delicious! I would probably substitute cashews for the soy nuts though. Cashews are my favorite!
