sellbydateDid you know?

  • That food dated for “sell by” or “use by” isn’t spoiled if you use it after that date?
  • That food dated for “best if used by” date is not a safety date, it’s for the best quality of the food?
  • That the term “Sizzling Hot” came from the custom of testing the temperature of a griddle or skillet by splashing a couple drops of water on it to see if the water sizzled, or danced, on the surface?

Did you also know that….

  • Cleaning up a broken egg from the floor is easier if it’s sprinkled generously with salt? After about 10 minutes, it can be swept into a dust pan.
  • Your favorite sponge can be sanitized by putting it in the dishwasher? I put mine in a small plastic cage made for small items.

Stay tuned for next week’s “Tweeked Tip Day” when I give you crazy cleaning ideas that work!
